Wonderful watercolours

Today in class 6 we have being using our brand new watercolours to create a beautiful wash.

I can’t wait to share our final artwork tomorrow!

What a SUPER day!

Today in year 2 we have completed our super hero training.

The children had lots of fun testing their speed, strength and agility on the equipment and I am pleased to say they all passed and received their certificates at the end of the day.

Well done class 6, you are all heroes!

Class 6 Elections

Today in class 6 we held an election to find our new class mayor.

The children wrote their campaign pledges which included litter picking, helping with reading and even bringing in sweets!

We then held a vote. Well done to Amelie who was elected Mayor and Katie and Freddy who are assistant mayors. I can’t wait to see what they get up to!

Ros Jones – Expert Visit

This morning we had a visit from the Mayor of Doncaster, Ros Jones. We were very impressed with the mature and thoughtful questions the children asked such as,

Do you like your job?

Do you have an office?

What are you going to do to help homeless people?

Are there any foodbanks in Doncaster?

How did you become the mayor?

Who gave you your CBE?

Who came first in the Mayor of the world competition?

How has Covid 19 affected Doncaster?

How do you keep people safe in Doncaster?

What can we do to help?

We are looking forward to meeting some more experts next week to learn even more about champions in our community and what we can do to make a difference.

Balloons and Eggs Galore!

Another day means another day of crew challenges!

Today we had to build the tallest freestanding balloon tower – everyone did amazingly working together and communicating to build the best structure despite a few burst balloons!

Next we had a pile of materials, a roll of tape and an egg. We had to make the best safety jacket for our egg before dropping them from the target board to see which crews egg had survived! There was some fantastic team work and communication because every crew had an egg survivor!

If we get crew right, we get everything right.

What a fantastic final week of home learning :-)

The children have planned and written some incredible stories about Wild 10 years later…

We have been learning about lines of symmetry in maths…

In expedition we have been learning about how to add texture into our observational drawings. 😀

We have written friendship letters to our friends that we will be sharing with each other next week ❤️

We had so much fun celebrating World Book Day! We have written book reviews, made finger puppets, been on scavenger hunts, guessed the masked reader contestants and shared some stories on our hangout 😊

Lily read her favourite story beautifully and wrote an amazing review…

I couldn’t think of a better way to end our last home learning blog than with a quote from Lily’s favourite book. I think it says it all, you can be anything you want to be and you’ve got an amazing journey ahead of you…

Oh, the Places You'll Go! by Dr. Seuss

Thank you for your amazing efforts,

Mrs Chadwick xxxx
